The role is to support management of pharmacy services, take responsibility for planning, organizing, and coordinating pharmacy operations in addition to compounding and dispensing pharmaceutical drugs and prescriptions.

VAC. 29/2025 PHARMACIST
Reporting to the Manager Pharmacy, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Review each order from the physician to verify and confirm to procedural and clinical requirements; accuracy and appropriateness of medications, dosage, and route and to detecting therapeutic incompatibilities of medication interactions.
- Dispensing medications from a direct copy of the physician’s order with 100% accuracy.
- Compounding of medication when required by using standard formularies whiles ensuring proper labelling and packaging.
- Inpatient Medication chart dispensing and providing clinical pharmacy services.
- Consult and advise doctors on medication interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper storage conditions.
- Ensuring rational medication use by monitoring and prescribing patterns and reporting to the Pharmacy Manager in the event of any medications use concerns/issues.
- Ensuring that the dispensing and manufacturing records are appropriately maintained accordingly to legal requirements and institutional policies and procedures.
- Ensuring patient billing is updated and hospital location imprest medications are replaced on daily basis.
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Bachelor’s in pharmacy
- 3- 5 years’ experience in similar role in the private sector
- Able to maintain confidentiality of patient’s information.
- Good knowledge of continuous quality improvement, infection control and risk management
- Have a high level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people with different backgrounds.
- The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Good IT skills (MS Office Suite)
