We are currently seeking a qualified, detail-oriented, and results-driven Accountant strengthen our Finance Team and contribute to the delivery of accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in financial operations.
VAC 53/2025 ACCOUNTANT
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Clear analytical skills including auditing, analysing and verifying fiscal records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports.
- Compile and analyse financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
- Manage day-to day transactions of the hospital transactions.
- Management, performance review and supervision of all finance staff in receivables, Payables and all receipting and invoicing done by the billing officers.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Lead the month end stock takes and report the variance to the Finance Manager
- Perform month end closing, posting journal entries and ensuring accuracy in balance sheet reconciliations.
- Communication to interact effectively with finance team and managers to convey information and to develop and maintain financial data bases.
- Liaise with Financial authorities and organisations such as Ministry of Health, FRCS, FNPF and Banking Institutions, Tax advisors and Auditors.
- Ensure that all finances are properly administered and monitored, including credit control.
- Ensure that appropriate financial regulations and controls are always in place and in use.
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of Tax legislation Acts
- Strong command of accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
