We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Cath Lab Technician to join our Radiology team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
VAC. 25/2026 CATH LAB TECHNICIAN
Reporting to the Manager Radiology, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Monitor invasive cardiology procedures.
- Assure optimal quality examination and intervention while maintaining the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Recognize basic equipment malfunctions and troubleshoot equipment in room and report malfunctions to Biomed promptly if unable to resolve.
- Assist physicians during procedures, utilizing septic technique.
- Assist in maintaining the appropriate level of medications and supplies stocked in the room.
- Interpret data gathered during procedures and recognize potential implications in patient care or complications
- Anticipate physician needs by being knowledgeable of Procedures performed in the department and Equipment (catheters, guide wires, etc.) necessary for procedures.
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Degree in Medical Imaging Technologist
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a Cath Lab Technician
- Registered under the Fiji radiation board and holder of APL from Fiji society of medical imaging technologist.
- Assist in interventional and diagnostic cardiac Cath procedures
- Assist in prepping of rooms for Cath lab procedures
- Proficiency in Cath lab procedures and safety guidelines
- Specialize in astute monitoring of the condition of each patient undergoing a cardiovascular procedure
- Profound knowledge of cardiovascular technology
- Strong familiarity with various cardiovascular medications
Excellent communication skills (Oral and written). - Proficiency in General/Desktop Microsoft Applications
- Has ability to interact well with people from a wide range of backgrounds
