KAKALA CAFE ATTENDANT (LOCUM)

We are looking for a qualified, competent, customer-oriented, and passionate Cafe Attendant to assist in the efficient day-to-day running of the Hospital’s Kakala Coffee Shop. The role also ensures to maintain good sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas, provide good customer service and assist the Food & Beverage Department as and when required.
VAC. 15/2025 KAKALA CAFE ATTENDANT (LOCUM)
Reporting to Team Leader Kakala Cafe, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Assist in the flow of food and beverages promptly and efficiently when serving meals, snacks, and beverages to customers.
- Provide excellent service and serve menu items in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Maintain an accurate record of all daily credits from employees.
- Operate the cash register and stock take on a daily basis.
- Ensure the Kakala Cate’s furnishing and equipment are properly maintained and to notify the Team Leader of any damages or repairs needed.
- Ensure that food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils are cleaned daily.
- Maintain good sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Professionally resolve all customer and staff concerns and report the same to the Team Leader.
- Any other duties assigned by the Team Leader
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role or in a related field
- Working knowledge of (Food and Safety Act 1996)
- Formal qualifications in food handling e.g., Commercial cookery
- Previous experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer literate
- Flexibility to work various shifts.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
