KITCHEN HAND – LOCUM BASIS

We are looking for a qualified, competent, customer-oriented, and passionate Kitchen Hand – Locum Basis. The role will assist in food preparation in the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness, food preparation and production delivery of meals, for both hospital and hospital patients are prepared, maintained, and presented of the highest standards in quality and within the Hospital in a compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable fashion keeping in mind the organization mission and values.
VAC. 25/2025 KITCHEN HAND – LOCUM BASIS
Reporting to the Manager Food and Beverages, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Ensure cleanliness, safety and efficiency of kitchen, cooking utensils & equipment, storage and workstations.
- Responsible for transferring stock from stockroom to designated shelves in the pantry room.
- Responsible for arranging patient meal trays and lunch special trays.
- Assist with ordering and storage of stock, stock rotation knowledge would be handy.
- Provide hands-on assistance to the Cook and carry out daily catering set ups for Cooks
- Observe all health, safety and sanitation, compliance standards required per healthcare standards.
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Relevant Certificate or Qualification in Hospitality
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge in handling kitchen utensils such as knives and basic kitchen appliances.
- Have a thorough working knowledge of all kitchen and catering surfaces and their cleaning and sanitation requirements.
- Good communication and customer relations skills.
- Able to undertake shift work and work in a busy, fast paced environment.
- Personal qualities such as compassion, resourcefulness, stamina, motivation, and perseverance.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
