VAC 22/2025 MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST
Reporting to the Team Leader Pathology, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Ensure tests are conducted and reports are prepared in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist the Team Leader Pathology to continually improve upon the quality and standard of service provided by the lab.
- Ensuring quality control of samples.
- Operate and maintain equipment and instruments within the Lab according to established manufacturer and laboratory standards and requirements.
- Operating lab equipment, such as microscopes and cell counters.
- Adhering to laboratory’s standards and policies.
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Degree/diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Registered member of Fiji Institute of Medical Science and AHP
- 2-3 years ‘of work experience in Medical Laboratory operations
- Knowledge of MS Office and other electronic laboratory inventory control systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Able to undertake shift work and attend to on-calls.
- Personal qualities such as compassion, resourcefulness, stamina, motivation, and perseverance.
- The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Excellent listening and communication skills for dealing with patients.
- Competent IT skills (MS Office Suite)
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
