VAC. 48/2025 NURSE ASSISTANT
Reporting to the Manager Nursing, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Provide for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients if necessary, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Ensure patients are comfortable in bed; adjust bed settings and/or reposition/turn patient as needed
- Take vital signs daily (weight, blood pressure, temperature) and recording in the patients files as required. record eating habits and bodily functions
- Help transport patients, including lifting them out of bed to use a walker or wheelchair
- Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ buzzer call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor
- Follow stringent cleanliness regimes as to preclude the possibilities of infections and other diseases.
- Ensuring the safety of the patients and reporting any unsafe conditions to the appropriate authorities.
- Any other duties assigned by your supervisor from time to time.
- Monitor and record patient daily activities; report any drastic changes to a nurse or physician
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Certificate in Nursing or Caregivers qualification from an accredited caregiver’s institution
- 4-5 years’ experience in Nursing or Care Giving
- Good communication, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of basic medicine and medical equipment
- Experience in caretaking
- Basic computer and record keeping skills
- Good knowledge of continuous quality improvement, infection control and risk management
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people with different backgrounds.
- The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
