We are seeking skilled, experienced, and competent Phlebotomist to join our Pathology team. The incumbents must be highly attentive to detail, well organized, and passionate in serving and working with staff and customers of diverse backgrounds to provide the utmost care. The suitable candidate will be responsible for drawing blood from patients or donors in hospital for analysis or other medical purposes. VAC. 11/2025 PHLEBOTOMIST
Reporting to the Team leader – Pathology, your primary responsibilities are to:
• Performs Phlebotomy in accordance with the protocol and procedure of OHPL Pathology Laboratory.
• Ensures all specimens are labelled legibly and placed safely into transport bag accompanied with the request form.
• Facilitates enquires from patients with close consultation with Medical Laboratory Technologist for technical and clinical information.
• Follows general hospital and laboratory policies and other directives as issued by the Team Leader – Pathology
• Ensures compliance of all safety and infection control policies and procedures of the Hospital.
• Able to conduct interviews and perform phlebotomy for blood donors (Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine).
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
• Certificate in Phlebotomy/CCLT
• 1-2 years’ experience in Phlebotomy
• Registered member of Fiji Institute of Medical Science and AHP
• Good communication, both oral and written.
• Knowledge of OH & S Act
• Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement, Infection Control and Risk Management
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
