SENIOR CONSULTANT – INTERNAL MEDICINE

We are looking for qualified, competent candidates to join our team as Senior Consultant – Internal Medicine. This role will play a pivotal role in providing high-level clinical expertise, leadership, and guidance in the management of adult patients with complex medical conditions. This senior-level position requires advanced clinical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to quality patient care.
VAC. 45/2025 SENIOR CONSULTANT – INTERNAL MEDICINE
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, your primary responsibilities are to:
- Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a broad range of acute and chronic internal medicine conditions, including but not limited to cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, gastrointestinal, renal, and infectious diseases.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior consultants, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals within the department.
- Assist in the development of clinical training programs and continuing education opportunities for medical staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Do consultant call and roster with other specialists to perform responsibilities of a. Specialist Consultant
- Provide regular reports on clinical outcomes, departmental activities, and other performance metrics to the Chief Medical Officer
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree in internal medicine
- Registered Specialist with the Fiji Medical Council or registered specialist in another country that is recognized by the Fiji Medical Council.
- Valid certificate of good standing.
- At least 5 years of clinical experience in internal medicine.
An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
