We are seeking a service-oriented, engaging, experienced Specialist Coordinator to join our clinical team. The Specialist Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the efficient administration of specialist services at Oceania Hospitals. This position is responsible for coordinating specialist appointments, managing administrative workflows, supporting compliance with hospital policies, and enhancing patient care by improving operational efficiency. This position is designed for a highly organized professional with expertise in healthcare administration, compliance, and hospital management processes.
VAC. 17/2025 SPECIALIST COORDINATOR
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer your primary responsibilities are to:
- Coordinate the day-to-day administration of specialist services, ensuring smooth operations.
- Facilitate the scheduling and coordination of specialist consultations, procedures, and follow-ups.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare policies, professional guidelines, and safety standards.
- Assist in the preparation for accreditation, audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Coordinate specialist rosters, ensuring optimal coverage and service availability.
- Provide administrative support to specialists, including managing referrals and patient records.
- Act as a liaison between specialists, hospital departments, and external healthcare providers.
- Assist Specialist with clinical procedures where needed.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for the Chief Medical Officer and hospital leadership.
The successful applicant preferably should have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Medicine, Nursing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in hospital administration or a related role.
- Knowledge of data analytics for healthcare service improvement.
- Experience with hospital information systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be flexible to work in a 24-hour hospital environment
