At Oceania Hospital, our Psychological Services Division provides assessment, treatment, and support for children, adolescents, and adults. We help individuals and families better understand their strengths and challenges, improve their wellbeing, and access the right care through evidence-based, person-centred services.
Our model of care includes comprehensive assessments, feedback and recommendations, talking therapies, speech therapy, psychoeducation, training, and referrals to other specialist services such as psychiatry, paediatrics, internal medicine, physiotherapy, dietetics and other allied health professionals when needed.
Our psychologists assess concerns relating to development (such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Intellectual Disability, and Language and Communication difficulties), learning (including reading, writing, mathematics, and other academic skills), and social, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing (including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioural challenges, couple and family relationship difficulties and social adjustment). Our Speech Pathologist provides assessment and therapy for communication, speech and language difficulties across the lifespan.

Outpatient clinics include:
  • Assessment Clinic – See a Psychologist for neurodevelopmental, learning, and social, emotional, or behavioural assessments, including diagnostic clarification, referrals and recommendations for supports and accommodations.
  • Talking Therapies Clinic – See a Psychologist for individual, couple or family talking therapies. This may involve Reflective Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Couples and Family therapy, and other evidence-based therapies
    tailored to your needs.
  • Speech Pathology Clinic – See a Speech Pathologist for assessment and therapy for speech, language, cognitive and communication difficulties.

Inpatient services are provided by referral and involve a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care for patients with more complex needs.

Our goal is to provide high-quality, compassionate care that supports communication learning, mental health, and overall wellbeing for individuals and their families.
